Following on from the success of our previous calls, we are once again providing comprehensive free support to spread evidence-based innovations that improve the health of people in the West of England with the launch of Evidence into Practice 2024.

The programme is open to anyone in the West of England working to improve the health of people in their community.  You may not work in a traditional healthcare role, but if you are improving the health of people in any way then this opportunity could be for you.

Kate Phillips, Senior Project Manager who is leading the programme, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for project teams to be recognised and to champion their work in the West of England – we’ve seen some fantastic projects go onto huge success through this programme in the past.

“We know that there are excellent areas of work in the West of England, across all sectors, where teams are innovating to significantly improve the health of people in their communities, and we want to help spread these impactful innovations so that more people can benefit. For example, if you know a school nurse reducing vaping rates in their students, a public health professional improving vaccination uptake or a dentist improving accessibility for patients, then we want to hear about it.”

For this year’s Evidence into Practice, we are welcoming applications from:

  • Teams delivering the innovative work on the ground, such as organisations within the following sectors: education, local authorities, voluntary, community, social enterprise and faith (VCSEF), the NHS and adult social care.
  • People who have developed innovations that have some evidence of health benefits when delivered that have some evidence of health benefits when delivered in the West of England.

Successful applicants will gain free support and advice to enable other people to adopt their innovative work.

Applications opened on 22 April and close on 31 May 2024.

More information about the programme, including full application criteria and guidance, is available here.

You can also contact Kate Phillips, Evidence into Practice Project Manager, for an informal discussion at kate.phillips17@nhs.net.
