The team at Meaningful Measures were part of a showcase of 18 innovators on the Health Innovation Network’s stand last month at NHS ConfedExpo in Manchester, all demonstrating how they are helping to deliver the Government’s three shifts for the NHS.
Meaningful Measures Ltd (dually located in Portishead and Hitchin) provides innovative person-centred evaluation, audit and research solutions to enable people’s own voices to shape the understanding and improvement of health and wellbeing services.
We have been working with the company for several months, helping the team to make connections with NHS organisations keen to explore person-centred outcome measures. We were delighted to be able to support the company to exhibit at ConfedExpo, giving them the opportunity to share their story with a wider audience.
Dr Helen Seers, Co-founder of Meaningful Measures, said: “We were so pleased to have been invited to join the Health Innovation Network’s stand at ConfedExpo – it was a great opportunity to gain so much new knowledge and insights, as well as generate lots of new contacts.
“There was lots of anticipation of the 10 Year Health Plan at the conference. Now published, the plan calls for wider use of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) to better understand what matters to patients, track outcomes that reflect their experience, and support more personalised, value-based care. We’re very confident that our person-centred outcome measures can add so much value to the delivery of this plan, which puts citizens right at the centre of their own care and in driving improvements.
“Our innovation is simple but powerful: we give patients a voice by measuring what matters most to them, without presuming what is important to them. Importantly our tools will pick up data on the wider social determinants of health, as well as health and wellbeing. We hope to empower more services to evaluate impact in ways that matter both to patients and commissioners, helping drive personalised, effective, and sustainable care.”
