With NHS Confederation, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) recently published a guidance document for local NHS organisations, about developing partnerships with industry.
“We have been listening to industry and system leaders to understand how to get the best from partnerships,” said Richard Torbett, ABPI Chief Executive. “Our guidance provides the tools people need, and I hope it will be well-used by companies and the NHS.”
‘Accelerating transformation: How to develop effective NHS-industry partnerships.’ is a practical, step-by-step guide to help NHS and industry partners come together to develop, contract, implement, measure and deliver benefits more rapidly. It is an accessible guide for innovators and NHS organisations with a range of useful tools including template forms, recommended frameworks, handy checklists and prompts to help develop successful collaborations.
Richard Stubbs, Chair of the Health Innovation Network commented: “Innovation is a team sport, we want as many patients as possible to benefit from the best that health innovation has to offer. That requires effective partnerships between NHS and our innovative life sciences companies. That’s why the Health Innovation Network supports the NHS Confed/ABPI guidance on partnership working.”
