Event summary
The South West England Mindset XR in Mental Health Event will showcase cutting-edge XR (virtual reality, augmented reality, etc) innovations that are supporting people with their wellbeing and mental health in a variety of clinical and educational settings.
Confirmed guest speakers are Dr Nick Peres, Director of Digital Innovation & Transformation at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, and Honorary Associate Professor University of Plymouth.
At this free event, attendees will learn about how XR technology is already being offered by the NHS and education sectors to support mental health and wellbeing. You’ll be able to experience demonstrations of some of these innovations and connect with those working with XR.
Examples of XR innovations in mental health include solutions for children through to older age adults, addressing depression and anxiety, pain management, serious mental illness, medical anxiety, immersive staff training, assistance for neurodivergent individuals and much more.
This roadshow is part of Innovate UK’s £20 million Mindset-XR programme, which is helping to catalyse the growth of immersive digital mental health solutions in the UK. Events are also being planned in Belfast, Cardiff, Dundee, Leeds and London.
