
Deborah Lee
Chief Executive, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Deborah Lee took up her first Chief Executive appointment June 2016 at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust following a 20+ year career in a variety of NHS management posts and is fortunate to have had the chance to work in many sectors including acute, community, mental health and primary care. Deborah has also worked in both commissioning and provider roles. Whilst at University Hospitals Bristol, Deborah was part of the early team who developed the system’s bid to establish the West of England AHSN.
Deborah has been nationally recognised by the Health Service Journal as one of the Top 50 Inspirational Women in Healthcare appeared in the last two years lists of the NHS Top 50 CEOs. She cites her guiding principle as to always be aware of what it feels like to be a member of staff or patient in the hospitals she leads.
Deborah also Chairs the West of England Local Clinical Research Network and is passionate about the many opportunities research and innovation afford the NHS when tackling the challenges it faces every day.
