Ellie has worked at Health Innovation West of England since early 2015, first as a Senior Improvement Lead/Project Manager, then Programme Manager and now Associate Director.
Ellie led the Safer Care Through Early Warning Scores patient safety workstream, which included managing the Emergency Department Collaborative, and supporting sepsis work in the region. After a pause during 2017-18 to have a baby, she launched the region’s Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) project, and between 2018-2020 managed the national roll-out of the PRevention of Cerebral Palsy in PreTerm Labour (PReCePT) programme.
She was the programme lead for Health Innovation West of England’s regional Medicines Safety Programme, Maternity and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme as well as the PERIPrem Bundle across both the West of England and South West regions and more recently supported the adoption and spread of PERIPrem across Wales. She also lead the early-stage design of the national AHSN Network Polypharmacy programme.
Ellie was seconded from April 2022 – September 2023 to BNSSG Integrated Care Board (ICB) as the ICS Development Programme Manager. She has now returned to Health Innovation West of England as Associate Director with responsibility for leading the development of the BNSSG innovation hub (iHub) which aims to accelerate innovation into practice across the integrated care system.
