NHS England and the National Institute for Health and Care (NICE) have launched a joint consultation on proposals to introduce a new pathway for the appraisal, funding and commissioning of MedTech in the NHS.
The proposals aim to ensure patients can benefit from faster access to the growing number of cutting-edge products recommended by NICE.
Visit the website to respond to the MedTech Pathway consultation, which closes at midnight on Thursday 15 August. NHS England and NICE are eager to hear from industry stakeholders, patient groups, carers, NHS trusts and integrated care boards, as well as the wider public, to inform the proposals on the development of the proposed pathway.
Learn more about the consultation in this podcast. Mark Chapman, Director of NICE’s HealthTech programme and Verena Stocker, Director of Innovation, Research, Life Sciences and Strategy at NHS England discuss the potential benefits and opportunities presented by the proposed pathway.
Explanatory webinars are available for NHS providers and commissioners on 22 July and industry stakeholders on 25 July.
